Riley Hospital Virtual Tour of the Atrium
YouTube Version
The atrium serves as a welcoming area for families and the location for many patient events throughout the year.
Children love seeing the stuffed animals high above, tossing pennies in the "stream," and watching the glass
elevators. At the back of the atrium is the facade of the original hospital built in 1924, to the right is the
1971 addition, and to the left is the 1986 addition.

Riley Hospital Virtual Tour of the Gift Shop
YouTube Version
The Raggedy Man Gift Shop is a favorite stop for patients and families. The gift shop name comes from a popular
James Whitcomb Riley poem. The idea for Riley Hospital came from friends of Mr. Riley who wanted to commemorate
the famed poet's life while providing a desperately needed pediatric medical care facility in Indiana.

Riley Hospital Virtual Tour of the Inpatient Rooms
YouTube Version
At Riley Hospital, separate treatment rooms keep a patient's room and the playroom as a "safe place" and free
from even necessary medical procedures. A parent is welcome to stay in a child's room overnight. Sleeping
accommodations are available on all non-intensive care units, along with televisions and telephones for patient
and family use.

Riley Hospital Virtual Tour of the Burn Unit
YouTube Version
Riley Hospital has the only pediatric burn unit in the state. Special tubs, like this one, are for wound
hydrotherapy treatments. Children sit in the tub to have their burn wounds carefully cleaned, which helps their
skin begin to heal. Brightly painted walls make the tub rooms more child-friendly. Likewise, since many of these
kids are confined to Riley's Burn Unit for long periods of time, a large picture window overlooks the atrium and
keeps patients connected to what's going on around them.

Riley Hospital Virtual Tour of the Rehab Center
YouTube Version
At Riley Hospital, occupational and physical therapies become "play" sessions for patients. Here patients
strengthen their bodies, fine motor skills, coordination and sensory development through interactive therapy
disguised as fun activities or sports. As always, family members are encouraged to take part.
