The Riley Children's Health Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, was created in 1999 to provide the highest quality health care available to newborn and pediatric patients throughout Indiana and the Midwest. It developed out of the Riley Hospital transport team which has been transporting patients since 1975.

The Transport Team is composed of a physician or neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP), registered nurse (RN), respiratory therapist (RT), and emergency medical technician (EMT). Completing more than 1000 transports in 1999, these personnel are among the most experienced transport staff in the country.
