The Riley Heart Center is also a national leader in the utilization of telemedicine, a digital, electronic system that allows for distance consultation and diagnosis. For example, digital echocardiograms performed at other hospitals may be sent to Riley via dedicated T-1 line for analysis by a pediatric cardiologist. Riley Hospital for Children is establishing a statewide network of facilities that are linked to the hospital by computer.
