Get the Facts...

  • Drugs are illegal unless prescribed by a doctor.
  • A drug is a substance that changes my body chemistry.
  • There are many different types of drugs: depressants, narcotics, inhalants, stimulants, hallucinogens and marijuana. They are all dangerous and can be addicting.
  • Drugs are very addictive and once I become adicted it will be hard for me to live without the drug.
  • The majority of my friends are not using drugs. The news makes it appear that way, but the reality is, most are not using.

Drugs and My Body...

  • An overdose of any drug could kill me.
  • Drug use increases my risk of contracting HIV or hepatitis.
  • The use of drugs can cause my heart to race or really slow it down. Either way, it is not a healthy heartbeat.
  • Drugs get into my bloodstream and travel to other parts of my body such as my brain.
  • Drugs may cause me to make decisions that I will regret later; because they will mess with my brain and I won't be able to think clearly.
